Vitreoretinal Surgery

Using Binocular indirect Ophthalmomicroscope

We help you see better.

This involves specialized and technically demanding microsurgery using the BIOM (Binocular indirect Ophthalmomicroscope) and vitrectomy machine to treat retinal detachments, intractable bleeding within the eye due to diabetes, vein occlusions, etc.

Vitreoretinal surgery is a specialised form of eye surgery for several uncommon ocular conditions such as retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane (also known as macular pucker), vitreous haemorrhage (bleeding inside the vitreous cavity typically from proliferative diabetic retinopathy, retinal tears, or retinal detachment), and severe ocular trauma, including retrieval and scleral fixation of dislocated intraocular lenses.

At Radhatri Nethralaya we have the state of the art most advanced vitrectomy machine in the world: Constellation by Alcon, USA.

This enables vitrectomy to be done without sutures with a speedier and more comfortable recovery to our patients
