Diabetes eye disease management

At the Smt. Radha Vedantham Centre for Vitreoretinal disorders wing of RN, all aspects and types of diabetic eye disease are painstakingly analysed and expertly managed. Apart from the comprehensive eye checkup as received by all patients, the diabetic patients depending on their retinal status, undergo specialized tests such as Fundus Fluorescein Angiography (FFA) which involves injecting a dye called Fluorescein into an arm vein and taking serial photographs of its passage into the eye; Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) which is akin to a non-invasive biopsy of the retina and Laser photocoagulation to treat diabetic retinopathy.
